Photoshop cs3 macintosh pro#
How much RAM has your Macbook Pro got in it? With 4 GB and a second monitor, you might find it's good enough. When I upgraded recently, I simply couldn't justify the additional cost of having a great, wheezing Mac Pro sitting by my feet inhaling dust and cat hair.
Photoshop cs3 macintosh upgrade#
I also need to upgrade my computer from the Macbook Pro to an Mac Pro although I don't see myself without the comfort of having the notebook on my lap (with insulation, of course) and yet the Mac Pro has the power that I need these days.ĬS4 pre-release beta - the entire suite - runs pretty nicely on my 3.06 gHz iMac with two screens and 4 GB RAM. CS is the standard to me and something I need to be abreast of any ways. Since I have started using the CNX2 more of my images are accepted at iStockphoto and it takes me a lot less time to develop them. Thanks for all the replies and the discussions. It's written for Carbon whereas Cocoa, Apple's 64-bit environment, probably won't be used by Adobe for Apple users until CS5 comes along. They must have re-written it with the Lightroom engine or something.ĬS4 is only 32-bit on the Macintosh - for the time being. Even staying in 32-bit, Bridge upgrade is a lot faster than CS3. Using a 64-bit Windows OS with 8 gigs of ram, the speed increase is my favorite change. I have not really got a handle on the real world system requirements yet though. The Local Adjustment, and Graduated filters (both of which can be used multiple times on the same RAW conversion) are worth the cost of the upgrade all by their selves. I found a few links since posting my message six days ago, and ACR 5.1 looks awesome. Lightroom 2.1 on your Mac will run 64-bit native and will be extremely fast compared to NX. Go with Lightroom and some of the presets that *almost* achieve identical results as NX. It's a must have and if you really what to get the best go for the Master CS4 Collection and get everything No questions CS4 is the biggest improvement Adobe have done to any CS series I use a Imac 2.8 and the new 3d filters are to die for
Photoshop cs3 macintosh 64 Bit#
Windows users have the benefit of running in 64 bit Macintosh users will have to wait. Cropping, rotating and transform options don't have the previous jaggies found in CS3 and images can now be held in tabs, rather than just floating about on top of one another. The layers palettes have been improved, cloning and other tools are much smoother. The Photoshop bit of CS4 is now available, although I'm still running the late beta.
I wouldn't say necessarily that it's more powerful, but the interface has been improved, as has Bridge (although the first thing I did with Bridge was to change the work-space back to the darker grey I preferred). Photoshop CS4 has a lot of nice extras which are worth the upgrade, although it depends on your priorities. I have thought about upgrading to CS4 but at the moment it is just not worth the extra expense to have CS4 sitting there not being used, not that I wont upgrade, ime probably will at some stage, right noe I like the ease and convienience of NX2.
I use NX2 and CS3, 90% of my work is now done in NX with CS being used now and again if its some serious changes to be done. Would you suggest upgrading? And what are the big differences between 3 and 4? I already have updated the Camera Raw on my CS3 to the latest version which comes with CS4. I would still need CS on my computer for other work. I have recently discovered NX2 and am enjoying its simplicity and power. I am running CS3 on a Mac and am considering upgrading to the CS4.
